National seminar on Socio-economic and Scientific Development in Northeast India: Problems and Prospects

Concept Note

Arya Vidyapeeth College, Guwahati, one of the premier educational institutes of NE India, is going to organize a two-day National seminar on “Socio-economic and Scientific Development in Northeast India: Problems and Prospects” on 27th and 28th October, 2017. The seminar aims to provide a platform to faculty members, research scholars and academicians from diverse disciplines to discuss and debate on important issues concerning development in NE India. The seminar is designed to bring together experts from various fields to a common forum which apart from providing an excellent opportunity for learning and networking, will also help in the growth of interdisciplinary opinions for promotion of sustainable development in the NE region.

Participant Information

Participants and Presenters are requested to follow the guidelines below

  • The abstract should not exceed 500 words and should include: Title, Objectives, Findings/Results
  • All submissions must be made in MSWord (Times Now Roman- 12 point)/pdf format.
  • The contributor(s) should kindly provide their name/s, affiliation, mailing address, E-mail and phone and fax number along with the Abstract.
  • All submissions must be made in MSWord (Times Now Roman- 12 point)/pdf format.
  • The manuscript should not exceed 4,500 words (About 15 A-4 size pages typed in double space).
  • The cover page should bear only the title of the paper, name/s of author/s, their official address, E-mail ID, phone/fax numbers, a brief biographical note of the author(s) and acknowledgements (if any).
  • The first page of the manuscript (after the cover page) should contain the title & the Abstract only.
  • Footnotes should be kept to a minimum and be numbered consecutively throughout the text with superscript Arabic numerals.
  • Lastly, papers which focus on the Seminar theme by continent/country would be given top priority in the selection process.

The manuscripts will be subjected to a critical review. The decision of the reviewers will be final and binding in all respects.

Formatting, Publishing and Presentation of Final Papers

The accepted final papers may be published as part of the proceedings of the Conference and shall be given to all delegates in electronic format, in addition to forwarding the same to policy-making agencies for their consideration.

Information Regarding Paper Presentation

  • The total time allotted for each presentation will be 10 minutes out of which 7 minutes will be dedicated to presentation and 3 minutes to interaction.
  • There will be a computer set with overhead projector at each venue.
  • The participants are requested to bring their presentation in soft copy preferably in pen drive and load the same in the respective computer before their presentation.
